Marin Center Vision Plan– Update

In 1957, Frank Lloyd Wright, speaking of the Marin County Civic Center, said: ÒIt is to be hoped and expected that Marin County Citizens, cognizant of the magnitude of this significant contribution to their lives and those of their children as well as to future generations, will work together towards completion of [an] entire master plan. In 2000, The Marin Center Renaissance Partnership was formed as a public and private venture to complete the vision of establishing a naturally beautiful destination for social gatherings, cultural and performing events, commercial activities and personal solace.

Now, five years later, a Steering Committee of local citizens, civic leaders and site users with a team headed by Mark Cavagnero Associates and Royston Hanamoto Alley and Abey present this Master Plan for development of the Marin Center. Fundraising and financing options are currently under review and will be presented to the Board of Supervisors this coming Fall.

Marin Center Vision Plan

The Final Report, completed in April, 2005, includes illustrative site plans, diagrammatic building plans and model photographs to describe the character of the four options that were developed, along with the development of the scheme selected by the Steering Committee and reviewed by the Board of Supervisors.  The report also includes phasing options, documentation of the public meetings as well as other owner supplied information to describe the development of the Marin Center Vision Plan.
