Auditorium
The Marin Veteran's Memorial Auditorium wll be renovated to provide a better venue for performances. Improvements being investigated include:
Adding a mezzanine space for better sightlines and fixed seating within the auditorium.
House concessions and restrooms on the ground floor beneath the mezzanine.
New aisles added to the main floor will offer better access to seating.
Permanent curved back wall to provide acoustic separation from the lobby space and improve acoustics within.
Existing restrooms on ech side of the building to be reconfigured to provide stage-level dressing rooms for performers.
Addition at the rear of the stage will allow set storage and stage crossover currently missing from the stage.
Overall acoustic improvements to elevate the facility to a higher level of performace quality.
New Showcase Theater
The existing Exhibit Hall wll be replaced by a larger new Showcase Theater with lobby and entry facing the grand mall.
Exhibit Hall Building
The new flexible space Exhibit Hall building will include:
Meeting rooms in two spaces.
Below-grade covered parking for 170 vehicles.
Significant indoor storage partially below-grade covered by berm.
Sloped roof allowing for a low roof line at the plaza edge and north clearstory windows providing natural daylight.
Sod roof restores and maximizes open space on site, insulates the building and minimizes temperature variations.
Walkway overhang shields interior from direct south sun.
Solar panels integrated into existing and new construction.
Recycled materials used throughout.
